180 Self-Storage, LLC is a self-storage property management and consulting company based in Phoenix, Arizona.

With over 50 combined years in the industry, 180 Self-Storage has the background necessary to help owners and investors in each of the disciplines that are key to the success of a self-storage investment, including store operations, construction management, real estate development, acquisitions and feasibility. Our extensive experience allows us to maximize a current owner's return-on-investment and improve property resale values.

The principals of 180 Self-Storage had an ownership position and operated 16 self-storage properties throughout the state of Texas as partners in Arizona-based 180 Development Services, LLC. The portfolio was comprised of approximately 8,640 units and over 962,000 SF offering a diverse range of product types. These self-storage properties were part of a successful 43 property disposition that was acquired by Public Storage in October 2013. Since then, through our client goal-focused management, we’ve helped open and operate 7 additional locations and achieve our client goals whether that be growth or acquisition. In fact, we’ve gotten so good at it, that we have won the ISS Best of Business – Development Consulting multiple times.

Jeff Helgeson - Principal

Jeff Helgeson has been in the self-storage industry for over 30 years. Jeff served as a Vice President/Partner of Real Estate with Arizona-based 180 Development Services, LLC and as a 20-year employee at industry leader Shurgard Storage Centers, Inc. where he served as a Market Manager, Regional Manager, and Real Estate Development Manager. He has successfully developed, acquired, redeveloped, and operated self-storage properties along the west coast (WA, OR, CA) and in the southwest (AZ, TX, CO, NV). Jeff's multifaceted career has provided him with a true working knowledge of the self-storage business from the ground up.

Tim Jones - Principal

Tim Jones has over 20 years of self-storage development, capital expenditure, and re-branding experience. Previously serving as Vice President of Construction/Partner with Arizona-based 180 Development Services, LLC and as Regional Construction Manager with industry leader Shurgard Storage Centers, Inc., Tim has successfully executed Construction Management responsibilities throughout the western United States, including AZ, NV, CO, CA, OR, TX, and WA. He has actively participated in the development and redevelopment process, including but not limited to site feasibility, preliminary budgeting, design coordination, permitting, and construction management. Furthermore, he has extensive experience inspecting potential acquisitions for deferred maintenance, developing budgets for deferred maintenance items, and re-branding and implementing capital expenditure plans.
